“We at ABC Architects were attracted to the laminate/MEG material for a few reasons. . . .
The rear facade of this building was land marked. The exterior laminate material allowed us to use a panelized system that was both complimentary to the adjacent stone facade, yet was a distinctly modern material. The use of this modern material also provided more flexibility in designing joint patterns as well as the advantage of being lighter than stone panels.”(More..)

ABET LAMINATI's new showroom is 4,500 square feet of color and texture, starting with the entry's 10-foot-high checkerboard wall. Visually entertaining, it's also pure marketing, showing off the fact that this company offers more colors and patterns-408, to be exact-than any other supplier of plastic laminates in North America. ABET LAMINATI Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

ABET LAMINATI, Europe's leading producer of High Pressure Laminates, has just won the Compasso d'Oro Award (a lifetime achievement tribute). The prize, which was first presented in 1954, represents the highest honor worldwide dedicated to the design of the Italian industrial sector. This is the second time Abet Laminati has received the Compasso d'oro recognition (the first dates back to 1987). An international jury, which recently assigned the prize to Abet in Milan, cited the following reason for their choice: "Abet Laminati spa Design implies reconciling function and materials with expressive outcomes. Established in 1957, Abet Laminati has successfully elevated plastic laminates into a product of high symbolic value. This has been achieved by working closely with the most talented and perceptive designers worldwide over several decades. For Abet, design represents what makes a product stand out on the world market, while making the most of the structural qualities of the material in question."
