GOES GREEN
Englewood, N.J. – Abet Laminati, Europe’s largest producer of high pressure
laminates, is green – its entire philosophical approach toward environmental
issues is ongoing. Abet Laminati’s research concentrates on searching for
solutions that will minimize the environmental impact of the products it brings
to the market. This is why Abet’s HPLlaminates do not contain asbestos, lead or
any other heavy metals and are all decorated exclusively with paper and clean
pigments. Toxicity, out gassing and land use degradation issues are therefore
faced head on. These efforts greatly reduce the plant’s environmental
footprint.The most recent outcome of these efforts is the Abet Laminati launch
of Tefor
®, its first recyclable and recycled surfacing material. Tefor
® is an
alloy of manufacturing wastes of high pressure laminates and chemically inert
polypropylene. Tefor
® can be used for a host of interior light duty,
design-driven applications including retail shelving, backsplashes and vertical
cladding.
But this is only the beginning of what’s green at Abet. As Abet Laminati
